Terms and Conditions of ZIVA Global UK

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the services of ZIVA Global UK (“ZIVA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“Member,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the services.

2. Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to any person over 18 years of age who is of Zimbabwean origin or has close ties to the Zimbabwean community through marriage/ adoption, regardless of gender, race, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or belief.

3. Membership Obligations
3.1 Adherence to Constitution: Members are required to abide by the ZIVA Constitution, which outlines the organization’s mission, values, aims, and governance structure.
3.2 Payment of Contributions: Members shall contribute £10 per funeral upon the death of another member. The estimated annual contribution is £320, but this may vary and decrease as we grow.

Contributions from large families are capped, with a maximum household contribution of £30 per funeral.
3.3 Fair Play Policy: Members who join primarily to access immediate benefits due to an anticipated death and subsequently leave will not be eligible to rejoin for five years.

4. Membership Benefits
4.1 Financial Assistance: ZIVA provides £20,000 to members’ families upon the death of a member to help cover funeral expenses and other immediate needs.
4.2 Comprehensive Funeral Support: ZIVA offers after-burial services, including tombstones or gravestones, transport, and accommodation to bereaved families.
4.3 Community Support: ZIVA fosters a strong community through events, networking opportunities, and access to resources and support services.
4.4 Immediate Assistance: Members are eligible for benefits immediately upon joining.
4.5 Beneficiary Flexibility: Members may change their designated beneficiaries at any time, provided they maintain a minimum of three listed beneficiaries.
4.6 Relocation Flexibility: Members who relocate from the UK may retain their membership and benefits as long as they continue to fulfill their contribution obligations.

5. Verification Process
ZIVA implements a rigorous verification process for all claims, including verification of death certificates, coroner reports, and police reports where necessary, to ensure the legitimacy of all claims.

6. Termination of Membership
Membership may be terminated for non-payment of contributions, violation of the Fair Play Policy, or conduct detrimental to ZIVA’s reputation or interests. Termination is subject to a fair hearing process by the Management Committee.

7. Data Protection
ZIVA complies with all applicable data protection laws and regulations. Member information is kept confidential and used solely for administering ZIVA and providing services to its members.

8. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
ZIVA reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any material changes.

9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Important Notes:

  • These Terms and Conditions are in addition to the ZIVA Constitution and should be read in conjunction with it.
     ZIVA operates as a non-profit, supportive online community organization and may seek registration as a charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
  • The Board of Trustees has the authority to interpret the Constitution and these Terms and Conditions.
  • Any dispute arising from the interpretation of these documents shall be resolved by a majority vote of the Board.
