Modern Slavery Statement for ZIVA Global
Introduction
ZIVA Global (hereinafter referred to as “ZIVA”) acknowledges the serious issue of modern slavery and human trafficking and is committed to ensuring that these practices have no place within our organization or supply chains. This statement outlines our commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Organization
ZIVA is a community-based organization that provides support and assistance to Zimbabweans in the UK and elsewhere abroad.
Our operations are primarily focused on providing financial and practical support during times of bereavement, as well as fostering community engagement and addressing social challenges faced by Zimbabweans in the UK and abroad.
Our Supply Chains
While ZIVA’s operations are largely community-based and rely heavily on volunteer work, we recognize the potential for modern slavery risks within our limited supply chains. These may include sourcing goods and services for events, funeral arrangements, and administrative purposes.
Our Commitment
ZIVA is committed to:
Upholding Ethical Principles: We conduct our activities with integrity and transparency, ensuring that our values align with the principles of human rights and fair labor practices.
Risk Assessment: We will conduct regular risk assessments of our supply chains to identify and mitigate potential areas of vulnerability to modern slavery.
Due Diligence: We will exercise due diligence in selecting and monitoring our suppliers, ensuring that they share our commitment to ethical practices and comply with relevant legislation.
Training and Awareness: We will provide training and awareness programs to our staff and volunteers on recognizing and reporting potential signs of modern slavery.
Whistleblowing Procedures: We maintain confidential whistleblowing procedures that enable individuals to report any concerns about modern slavery without fear of reprisal.
Continuous Improvement: We will continuously review and improve our policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness in preventing modern slavery.
Our Actions
To uphold our commitment, ZIVA will:
- Incorporate anti-slavery clauses into our supplier contracts.
- Conduct regular audits of our suppliers to assess their compliance with ethical standards.
- Provide clear guidance to our staff and volunteers on identifying and reporting potential instances of modern slavery.
- Collaborate with relevant organizations and stakeholders to share best practices and enhance our efforts in combating modern slavery.
