ZIVA (Zimbabwe Voluntary Association) is a community organization based in the UK, made up of Zimbabweans, their friends, and families. We offer support and assistance to each other during challenging times, such as bereavement. ZIVA was founded in 2019 to foster unity and support within the Zimbabwean community.

Funeral and Bereavement Support: Financial and practical assistance to families dealing with loss, including after-burial services like tombstones, transport, and accommodation.

Assistance with Illness and Health Conditions: Support for individuals facing health challenges.

Immigration and Deportation Matters: Guidance and support with immigration issues.

Addressing Homelessness and Hunger: Aid to those experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.

Community Engagement: Organizing community gatherings and events.

In the past 4 years, ZIVA has donated nearly £100,000 to about 40 families.

What is the ZIVA Global Membership Referral Scheme?
It’s a program designed to grow our membership and enhance the support we provide. By referring new members, you can earn a commission and help us reach our goals.

How does the referral scheme work?
You receive £10 for each new member you refer, paid out over four funeral events (£2.50 per event).

What are the benefits of being a ZIVA member?
Financial Support: £20,000 to members’ families upon the death of a member.

Lower Contributions: Reduced individual contributions as membership grows.

Enhanced Services: Access to a range of services, potentially including private crematoriums, landscaped gardens, transportation services, and more.

Community Support: Emotional and practical assistance from a strong community.

Immediate Assistance: No waiting period to receive support.

After Burial Services: Support with tombstones, transport, and accommodation.

Flexibility for Beneficiaries: Members can change beneficiaries.

Relocation Flexibility: Members can relocate and retain benefits.

How much are the membership fees and contributions?
Each member pays a joining fee of £10 and subsequently contributes £10 per funeral upon the death of another member. The estimated annual contribution is £320, but this may vary each year.

For larger families, contributions are capped at £30 per household.

What is ZIVA’s “Fair Play” policy?
To ensure fairness, members who join solely to access benefits for an imminent bereavement and then leave will not be allowed to rejoin for five years.

Can members who relocate from the UK still receive benefits?
Yes, unlike other organizations, ZIVA allows members who relocate to continue their membership and receive benefits as long as they maintain their contributions.

What is ZIVA’s verification process for claims?
ZIVA has a rigorous verification process, including requiring proof of death, coroner reports, and police reports, to ensure the legitimacy of all claims.
